ChrisThe Sea Urchin could be an ideal model to use the outboards that I bought for my Faun build before going inboard. It is hard chine versus round hull but otherwise looks very similar to the Faun which is the problem. Then again I have many similar Faireys.

I'm having thoughts about other models but they look faster and need a faster outboard to do them justice really.

David, problem with you building a bigger Sea Urchin is that you will want to detail it!

ChrisTranslated from 英語.

あなたの製作の進捗を見られるのを楽しみにしていますし、船外機駆動版になるかもしれない完成形も楽しみにしています..!Hey Bob, I also have a Sea Urchin from SLEC next to my desk waiting for the day I have time to start it..! I like Nicks approach of using balsa where possible and that's my plan for the 16" version. Given this will involve some tracing and cutting, I'm also toying with the idea of creating a larger set too, what scale I'm not sure, but a doubling would make a 32" Sea Urchin, and at that kind of size maybe it could be a planked version... I think I recall a 28" or so version in Model Boats Mag a few years ago.

I've also developed a bit of a thing for Taycol motors and plan to use a Taycol Comet for the 16" build. They are from the same era I believe so quite a fitting combination. I've been trying and failing to build a suitable speed controller that I'm happy with for the Comet, and now have a servo driven rheostat in build to test, again probably more appropriate for that motor and era. Will be interested to see your build progress and look forward to the outcome with a possible outboard powered version..!
