The reason that I have been researching U Boats is that I have 2 in the pipeline. One is a fibreglass hull which I am developing a microprocessor control unit for. This is a tabletop job so I work on it in the winter when my workshop is too cold. The other is a Revell 1/72 kit which will I will get too at some stage. I did have another one, a Krick U25 but someone made me an offer I could not refuse so I sold it.

The u boat U570, type V11C was captured and put back into the RN as HMS Graph.
Last year I was given the transmitter of a model of this sub to sail round the Kirklees Model Boat Club lake while the owner went for his lunch 😊. I didn't dare dive the boat as he didn't give me good enough instructions on how to bring it back up and I was too busy making sure that I didn't collide with anyone's boats.
He had the boat painted in a very light grey??. 🤔🤔.

1 The Bulldog Incident, the British captured an Enigma Machine and code books. The American film industry decided to rewrite and immortalise the American capture of the same items in 2000 film U571.🤣
2 Was U 570 captured and renamed.(see ensign and crew uniforms below)

A No Brainer Pat.
But I'll give the others a chance first.
I worked with the shipyard in question on several projects over 30 years or so😉
Now part of the German Shipyards consortium.
1 The Bulldog incident, & 2 Re-flagged, are famous and well documented incidents in the Battle of the Atlantic.
Cheers, Doug😎

Good Afternoon Model Enthusiasts
This question should suit EdW and our Germen members:-
1. What is the significance of U110 ?
2. What is the significance of HMS Graph ?
3. Which shipyard built the most U Boats during WWII.
Thats something different for you all
Good luck
Pat
