Rc connection issues
Hi Alessandro, at the moment I'm just about staying awake from this mornings 2.30am start. Tomorrow I can have a lie until 4.30am 😂🤣.
I know that the batteries are all fully charged and have not had any issues with them before. I have a simple test rig set up so that I can test motors separately which I have used on the motors concerned and again they behave as they should 😊.
I'm thinking 🤔 that possibly the esc has gone into safe mode for some reason and reading about the other flysky issues, what I've done is clear the settings for now and maybe I'll try to reconnect tomorrow evening if I'm still awake and then update with any results. Thanks to everyone for their response and I'll let you know, bear 🐻 with us if I don't come back straight away as it's going to be a long week. Thanks again everyone 👍

Ciao Doogle.
You have received many useful tips and directions, I hope you will solve your problem.
When I read this forum I always learn something.
Please inform us if the problem still exists or if you have solved it. If so, how?
The connections seem correct.
If the Esc is working perfectly, I too (as Toradog did) immediately think of an insufficient power supply.
It is one of the first suspicions when one user manages to work and another does not.
In reality, it could be not only the voltage but the current or both that are insufficient. Brushed electric motors do not turn if supplied with the correct voltage but insufficient current.
In this case, the battery pack should not be able to turn the electric motor even if connected directly to it. You could do a test in this sense, if the electric motor does not turn even with the batteries directly attached then the problem is the batteries, or the electric motor (but I imagine that the latter has already been tested by you).
However, BobbyN's diagnosis intrigues me and interests me a lot.
Please Doogle let us know if it was the right one.

I had an issue with one of my Flysky I6 radios a few months ago. The rudder would work but the motor would not, I sought advice from fellow modellers on this forum but unsure how to link this thread. The bottom line was I solved the issue by going to a new model setting and it has worked fine since. It has resulted in the model 5 option on the radio being unusable because channel 3 does not work. On model 6 it all works well. Perhaps I could reset the radio but this would mean loosing all the settings I currently have for other models and I really do not want to resort to this.
So my advice would be to try resetting your radio to factory settings or just go to a new model and see if it works. If neither work then I guess it probably points to a wiring issue.

I have a Hobbywing 1060 ESC and it needs two or three movements of the throttle stick before it bursts into life. It beeps once when I switch it on and then beeps again before it flies into life after two or three movements of the stick. Could this be your problem too?

Wow. that appears to be a tiny battery to run the radio and the motor off of. Are you running your motor off the same battery? I am guess it is a NMHI pack or a lithium pack? If it is the latter, has it been charged? It is clear that the battery has enough power to run the radio, but that is only 5 volts. If the battery is run down, then there may not be enough voltage for the ESC to operate.
What is the voltage of the motor? Also, can you turn the motor over by hand?
Sleep good😊😊

Dg99. Do you know for certain that your rx is compatible with your FlySky tx?

OK, that answers quite a bit.
What brand of ESc's are you using?
Are there fuses or circuit breakers in your system?
Are you running two motors independently? Two ESC's.
One thing you have not mentioned is what kind and size battery are you using. Also is it fully charged?
It sounds like you have used this very same set-up(rc installation) before in the same boat. Correct? If so, what if anything have you changed since it ran properly to when this current issue occurred?
I was taught(many years ago) to always start diagnosing at the battery. I would start here as well.

Try swapping the r/c lead plugs on the rx and give it a go, that would indicate if it is a channel prob!

Thanks for the inputs everyone. Presently out with my wife at present for medical appointments. To clarify, battery in boat supplies power to esc so bec in effect. Motors run independently when tested and all good last time they were last down at the lake. Two wires on motors/brushed 340 . Don't remember offhand the esc make, but on the flysky, both rx and tx symbols show when switched on. Radiolink beeps and then will operate the rudder. When the throttle is applied on either set the esc's will flash repeatedly but no signal appears to reach the motor. Hope this helps to clear things up. Puzzled 🤔

Please clarify, Are you using a separate battery for the radio system and a separate battery for the motor, or are you using the motor battery to power both through a BEC(battery elimination circuit)?
What, exactly is the ESC you are using? Pictures if possible. How many wires are coming out of it and how and to what are they connected to? What is the motor you are using?
There are a number of possibilities, but more info is needed. Sit tight before you go replacing anything at this point. It may be as simple as removing one wire.

Hi Dgoss999, in replying to your post, the esc relies on the battery for power. Both radiolink and flysky are giving the same problems. Battery is fully charged but still only rudder and no power to motor. Is it possible that both sets have dropped the bind for some reason and need rebinding. Could it just be a fluke?

Hi everyone, a technical issue I'm having trouble with. I've just tried the rc out and find that although the rudder works, no power to the motor. Thought it was possibly an issue with the esc so swopped it over ,same problem. I'm using a radiolink tfs8 and a flysky i6. Both are giving me the same problems. The esc links up with either set and when the throttle is pushed the esc flashes but no power, although I can operate the rudder. Tried on 2 separate boats with the same results. Tried a couple of batteries as well, don't think it's these, unless not enough charge left in them except for operating the rudder. Any idea 💡 please 🙏.
I don't like electrics when it goes pear shaped 😂
