Finally got around to building the rear cabin for my Inga, I’ve made it in 2 halves so access is possible without removing the mizzen mast.
Because the cabin was missing when I purchased the” barn find hull” I had to fit windows too so I chose to use port holes.which is not true to the original but I like the effect. I made a brass collar for the mast, I shall incorporate this in a below cabin mast support. Similar to the one MT Inga has fabricated.
It has been a task matching the mahogany tones to the weathered original, but I’m nearly there just a bit more work and I think it will be passable

With the rear cabin nearly completed , just a few embellishment’s to add. My Sundays pottering turned to the anchor winch, the kit part was very basic, and upon seeing the photos of the original when she was for sale some years ago, I thought I could add a little to the winch to make it a little more realistic. I need to source some small hand wheels to finish the winch so shall not describe what I did, but just show photos, also in the original photo I noticed a small inflatable dinghy. Now for some reason a couple of years ago i played about with the idea of building a model one. As with most ideas it was half done and consigned to the spares tin, on rummaging this morning I realised it was a dead ringer for the Ingas tender. I had made it from white plastic central heating pipe, with the sides cut at angles and superglued together. The scale was spot on so I fitted a base and gave it a spray of flat white paint. I can now either store on deck or tow behind as in both the original photos.( do you think the club committee will allow me to enter the towing comps, next season?.) Finally I built up a steering wheel for the wheelhouse as again the kit wheel was a bit puny. I bought two types of wheel available and grafted them together. This type I have not seen commercially available and am pleased with my 1st attempt . I intend to fit out the wheel house with as much detail as the original IngaIV. So more pottering to come as I call my random modelling days flitting between one part and another with no set structure.
